Here's one way you can judge whether a home builder is up to your task.

Look at some of the houses the builder has constructed. Pay special attention of there is a finished basement in the house, and always look at the attic. Do you see any signs of of leaking or dampness? Do you see any cracks in the foundation walls or in the floors. In the attic can you see any defects in insulation, heating and cooling ducts, support columns, or in the electrical wiring?

Before deciding on a home builder for your next home, compare different builders, ask for references, and inform yourself about good home building practices.
